Update June 1 2022

A hot one today. Hope you’re staying cool and hydrated. Imagine walking to services in 1830, when that building was new. Only windows and doors for ventilation, and everyone wearing more layers of clothing. Meanwhile I turned on the AC. Times change.

The color of the day is red! Sunday is the Feast of Pentecost. one of the few days when the paraments are red. Pentecost, Reformation; Ordination days. Maybe a few other feast days. but the color is fire and spirit and passion and joy. We’ll talk about that Sunday.

Tapology this Sunday, at Desperate Times. Should you wish to join in a time of community over a lovely, refreshing, beverage join Rev Matthew Best and me at 5 this coming Sunday. Grab dinner while you’re there. The group has some good conversations, founded in faith. 5 pm, Desperate Times, 1201 Springs Road. Near the Fairgrounds.

Prayer List: we lift to God Christian and all military personnel and first responders. We ask for rest and recovery for all teachers as the school year ends. We lift Pam, Betty Lou, Mark, Pat, Seth, DJ, Margaret, George, Arleen, Greg, Ruth, Darryl, Billie, Dave. Tim and Lisa. We ask for wisdom for those researchers looking for a cure to so many conditions, including COVID and cancer. And we ask for peace. Always, peace. Be well, people of God. Stay cool, stay hydrated. Peace.
