Spring Day update, March 21 2022

Happy First Days of Spring! Some calendars have the Vernal Equinox on March 21, but this year it falls on the 20th. Days will get longer, a bit warmer. Leaves will begin to come on. Spring will soon be here.

Speaking of Spring: Easter Lily orders will be due soon!!!!!!! Soon meaning April 1 2022. Realistically that means this coming Sunday March 27 will be your last day to get the order slip filled in and handed in to Marji, or me. Service starts at 9:30 as always, See you there!

Lenten Compline : This year for Lenten Midweek we are using the Service of Night Prayer, also called Compline. In addition to the service as printed I am sharing a reading from the Lenten series, to keep us in the mindset of following Jesus to Jerusalem. Join us for an evening of reflection Wednesday at 7 pm.

Lower Susquehanna Synod Assembly is coming up , and we could use some delegates. Saturday May 14 is a learning day; Friday evening and Saturday all day, June 3 and 4, will be the business days. St Matthias is asked to provide one female and one male delegate. The Assembly is online this year. Delegates will need to have reliable internet and two digital devices. See Vicar for more details. I am already registered. Registration prices will increase April 1. St Matthias has money in the budget to pay for those registration fees.

Prayer List : As the weather gets nicer we lift to The Creator all those who till the fields, gardens, and orchards in this area. May weather be favorable and harvests bountiful. We lift to God Christian and all those who are in the military and all first responders. We lift to God all those teachers, students, and school employees as the school year draws to a close in a few weeks. We pray for Pam, Betty Lou, Mark, Pat, Seth, DJ, Margaret, George, Arleen, Greg, Ruth, Darryl, Billie, Dave, Tim and Lisa. We ask for the Spirit to guide the congregation in all of its work and thoughts. All of these things and whatever else is on our hearts we lift God trusting in Their mercy. AMEN.

Be well, children of God.
