Update January 25, 2022

Not much going on here downtown. The cats are enjoying their evening treat. The two of them split a can of cat food. These are both big boys. Not to worry that they’re not getting enough to eat.

But being a bit slow has its own virtues. It seems like we have been so busy and frantic for so long that it’s become normal. And then when life gets a bit more relaxed, it feels wrong. And that’s what is wrong. After a career where “The show must go on” it is nice to be able to step back and re-think that. And I’ve come to disagree. Life, happiness, is much more important. Breathe. Play with the cats. Read another chapter in your book.

Baby C update! Last week I told you that friends Hillary and Evan are getting really close to the birth of their son. Evan posted an update a few days ago. Everything looks great, and Baby C (their last name is Christensen) is getting squirmy and ready to make an appearance. Evan said they’ve already chosen a name. That didn’t stop many of us from offering our own ideas, most of limited if any use. I will let you know when Baby C finally shows up. Prayers for all families are of course appreciated.

Prayer List : That brings us to our prayer list. We ask God’s watch over Christian and all those who serve in the military, and those who are first responders. We lift up teachers as they balance the challenges of teaching in this time. We pray for Pam, Betty Lou, Mark, Pat, Seth, DJ, Margaret, George, Arleen, Greg, Ruth, Darryl, Billie, Dave, Tim and Lisa. To St James Lutheran in Gettysburg as they vote on a call for their next lead pastor the first weekend of February, we ask for the Spirit to guide their thoughts. All these things and whatever is on our hearts we lift to God, trusting in their love and mercy. AMEN. Be well, people of G0d.
