Dear Siblings in Christ,
Happy New Year! I pray that 2021 is off to a good start for you and that you are staying safe and healthy.
In the midst of the pandemic, it’s sometimes hard to believe that the new year is finally here — but even in the midst of it, we continue to celebrate the 12 days of Christmas up to the Epiphany this coming week. As part of this, we celebrate the second Sunday of Christmas this weekend, where we hear the prologue of John, which gives us a glimpse of the many images he uses throughout his Gospel that depict Jesus: light, truth, the Word, new birth, flesh, and many others. His words lead us to the simple but profound message that God is revealed in a human person and continues to dwell among us.
We continue to worship online to help ensure the safety of our St. Matthias family and we invite you to worship at home with us. Worship will be available Sunday morning, Jan. 3, anytime after 9am by clicking on one of the following links:
